On 3rd March 2020, in Mother House, Piazza Farnese, Rome, at the age of 83, after having spent 69 years in faithful service to God, in the Church in our Order, spending in the service as Abbess General for 37 years, Mother Tekla passed away peacefully from this earthly exile to the eternal dwelling.

With great sorrow Rev. Mother M. Fabia Kattakayam, Abbess General, informs and asks prayers for the repose of the departed soul of our beloved Mother.

Mother Tekla was also closely related to Estonia. His merits in bringing back The Bridgittine Sisters Order to Estonia and reopening the Pirita Monastery are invaluable. The Estonian people and Clergy will mourn Mother Tekla and remember her forever.
